Electrician

ITI electrician course is a short-term professional technical course, which enables students to work on different types of electrical wiring and equipment. Under this course, students are given a good knowledge of Electrical equipment, Wiring, safety in the electrical field, and other technical details.

Educational Qualification- 10th Pass

Course Duration- The Duration of the ITI electrician course is 2 years, divided into 4 semesters.

What students learn during the ITI electrician course- 

The course starts with basic safety practices. Further, you will be taught the following topics-

Basic Electricity

Effect of electric current

Wiring systems

Magnetism

Electrical machines

transmission and distribution.

Learning Outcomes (Semester Wise)

FIRST-YEAR

Semester I & II

• Prepare profile with an appropriate accuracy as per drawing following safety precautions.
• Prepare electrical wire joints; carry out soldering, crimping, and measure the insulation resistance of the underground cable.
• Verify characteristics of electrical and magnetic circuits.
• Install, test, and maintenance of batteries and solar cells.
• Estimate, Assemble, install and test wiring system.
• Plan and prepare Earthing installation.
• Plan and execute electrical illumination system and test.
• Select and perform measurements using analog / digital instruments.
• Perform testing, verify errors and calibrate instruments.v
• Plan and carry out installation, fault detection, and repairing of domestic appliances.
• Execute testing; evaluate performance and maintenance of transformer.

SECOND-YEAR

Semester III & IV

• Plan, execute commissioning, and evaluate the performance of DC machines.
• Execute testing and maintenance of DC machines and motor starters.
• Plan executes commissioning and evaluates the performance of AC motors.
• Execute testing and maintenance of AC motors and starters.
• Plan, execute testing, evaluate performance and carry out maintenance of Alternator / MG set.
• Execute parallel operation of alternators.
• Distinguish, organise and perform motor winding.
• Assemble simple electronic circuits and test for functioning.
• Assemble accessories and carry out the wiring of control cabinets and equipment.
• Perform speed control of AC and DC motors by using solid-state devices.
• Detect the faults and troubleshoot inverter, stabilizer, battery charger, emergency light, and UPS, etc.
• Plan, assemble and install a solar panel.
• Erect overhead domestic service line and outline various power plant layouts.
• Examine the faults and carry out repairing of circuit breakers.
