SECRETARIAL PRACTICE is a short-term job-oriented, technical course in the domain of office assistance and management. It opens up a pool of opportunities in MNCs, Government departments, personal assistance, office management, and more. The course focuses on training a candidate’s Professional Skills, Professional Knowledge, and Employability Skills which are essential to employment in secretarial positions. During this course candidates will learn a variety of communication skills, both spoken and written, letter writing, note taking, presentation practices, and more.
Minimum qualification – 10th Class
GENERIC LEARNING OUTCOMES INCLUDES -
- Basic computer fundamentals & its peripherals.
- Familiarisation with shorthand and apply with computer applications following safety precautions.
- Prepare a complete sentence with the use of logograms grammalogues, contractions, tick ‘The’ & punctuation.
- Acquire knowledge of Windows operating system.
- Identify the strokes R & H, Abbreviated W.
- Identify small circle for S & Z, Large circle for SW/large loop & small loop /understand MS-Word by using all tools.
- Recognize the direction of SHR, SHL, and alternative forms.
- Observed curved hook and compound consonant.
- Recognize different types of hooks.
- Develop new sentences and apply halving / doubling principles.
- Apply the prefixes.
- Identify the monetary units & use them.
- Apply note-taking techniques
- Improve communication skills, both spoken and written, letter writing, presentation practices, and more.
- Perform on MS-Excel.
- Label the office layout.
- Identify all types of file requirements & implement the same on MS-Power point.
- Demonstrate MS-Power Point Presentation.
- Demonstrate features of MS PowerPoint.
- Familiarisation with Internet functions.
- Identify all types of official tools & equipment.
- Observe all types of postal services.
- Prepare all types of letters and correspondence.

- Answer telephones and give information to callers, take messages, or transfer calls to appropriate individuals
- Arrange conferences, meetings, and travel reservations for office personnel.
- Maintaining effective records and administration
